Preparations are coming along nicely for our 3nd annual Rhythms of Our Own Drum Festival (ROO3) scheduled for Sunday, September 11th 2011. AIPS will be collaborating with the good people at Arts on the Ave (AOTA), who are responsible for many of the fine events taking place on 118th Avenue, including the Kaleido Family Festival (Sept. 9-10). This year ROO2 will be held on the same festival site on the same weekend as Kaleido (93 Street and 118 Avenue). We’re excited about this new partnership with AOTA, and we are confident that our festival goers will be pleased as well.

In no time it will be “RHYTHMS OF OUR OWN” 2011, and we need VOLUNTEERS!! There are all kinds of positions available: stage crew, ticket sales, concession, setup and tear down, and many other duties…In addition, KALEIDO also needs help on Friday night and Saturday, September 9 and 10th. Please consider signing up for duty with us, either for Sunday only, or for the whole weekend; you’ll have a great time, and you’ll be contributing in a meaningful way to the growth of both of our festivals.

We’ll be hosting a Volunteer Sign-Up at Dance Percussion Studios, so visit here for more details. But feel free to send in your application now. For more information contact Jane at 780.668.3418 or email below. And THANKS!

BENEFITS OF VOLUNTEERING: Discounts on Workshop and Gala Tickets, Free ROOO3 Festival T-Shirt to be worn when volunteering and a Volunteer Appreciation Party to be held at a later date.

Please Note: Youth (ages 12 to 17) wishing to volunteer must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who will be responsible for the youth while on-site at the festival. Please contact the Volunteer Coordinator below for further information.
