The Alberta International Percussion Society (AIPS), a non-profit society, was established in 2009 by a group of Edmonton musicians. Our goal is to support local percussionists, both professional and amateur, solo artists and ensembles, and to promote percussive music in all its’ creative forms. Our members have varying experience ranging from beginners who are just beginning to explore the delightful sounds of percussion instruments, amateur ensembles venturing on to stage, as well as the seasoned professional musicians.
It is our belief that drumming is an art form that is accessible to anyone, regardless of experience or ability. As part of its mandate, AIPS intends to become a resource for the drumming community, local and province wide, and to promote percussion-based events and activities to bring to the community at large.

To establish a community-oriented, annual music festival focussed on percussion music in all its forms.
Our Vision:
To emphasize the interaction between professional and amateur musicians, as well as between musicians and dancers, and the accessibility of drumming as a creative, enjoyable and therapeutic activity for all ages and levels that promotes peace and harmony.
AIPS Member Application
Get discounts on all AIPS events, as well as a subscription to our email newsletter, and select local retailers (TBA). Membership fee proceeds go towards funding festivals and events.
Annual Membership Fees:
- Single Member: $20.00
- Group or Family (3 or more persons): $50.00
Payable by cash, cheque, or online with credit card or Paypal (see below). Please make cheques payable to AIPS. Cheques are preferred if mailing form. Members will sign a waiver at any special events.
